I bought this printer for home use because I was sick of ink-jets. I chose this model because of the relative low cost of the replacement toner, the price and the decent print quality. The network connectivity was also a selling point which makes use from multiple computers a lot easier. The printer is used moderately and has over 1000 total pages printed in the year or so we have had it. The original starter toner cartridges just ran out. I'm glad I bought this printer instead of having to deal with ink-jet cartridges getting gummed up with infrequent use and the high replacement expense. Since we have had this printer we have very rarely had to do any upkeep besides refilling the paper.

The printer stopped working 2 months after the one year warranty. The LCD goes dim and light and it won't get out of the warm up state. Called Samsung and the person on the phone had me do a lot of turn it on and turn it off type things until he finally gave up and told me it was not their problem since it was past the warranty period. He stated that even if it had been 1 year and 1 day when it broke that they would not stand behind their product. Conclusion, Samsung printers and customer service are subpar, they know it, and they do not seem to care. I bought a brother printer and it has worked just fine. I will never buy a printer, phone, or any other product made by Samsung.

This printer started failing (printing light on 1/2 the page) with less than 3200 pages printed. When I called Samsung, I was told I needed to replace the dev unit. Her next comment was "we've had a lot of calls lately with that problem". They would not extend the warranty (It was a month past) and gave no other help. I purchased the CLX-2160N 10 months ago based on brand name & size. In the past 4 months I have replaced the toner twice at a cost of approx. 50.00 each for the 4 tubes. The imaging unit once at an approx. cost of 110.00 (it appears like it needs to be replaced again as indicated by the blank white lines beginning to show up. I have replaced the waste toner container 3 times so far. All of this with less than 10,000 pages printed, copied or scanned.
The print is great, but the expense is not worth the quality. I am in the process of replacing the unit with another brand.
